There are many people and not just seniors or people with limited mobility that are looking for long-handled toenail clippers.
That was a good reason to see what I could find out about them and see if I could find some recommended long reach toenail clippers.
Although I wrote about toenail clippers for seniors in another article and I could have added it do that I decided to give its own place here on the senior citizen website.
I found 3 models and brands that in my opinion are worth having a good look at.
Happy Health Smart Scissor
The Happy Health Smart long-handled toenail scissor comes with an 8 1/4 inch long handle.
If this is long enough for you is something only you can decide on.
It is made from stainless steel and this means it should not rust if it is kept dry.
The handle is nicely shaped and comes with what the company calls a tight grip handle.
Angles blades are a must for these types of long-reach clippers. Straight would make it impossible to use.
Easy Reach Toenail Clippers
There is not too much to tell about the Payne Free easy reach toenail clipper. The picture tells it all.
It gives you 22 inches of extended nail clipper use.
You attach your own toenail clipper to it and you have your extended handle.
Just pay attention when you order one. There are two models and it is a little confusing on Amazon what you exactly order.
I also have to be honest and tell you that this one came with the highest rating I could find for any long-handled toenail clipper.
Dream Cut Easy Reach Scissor
The thing I like about this pair of clippers is that it is made of forged surgical steel and this will guarantee no rust at all times.
I also like the serrated blades that make cutting in my experience easier.
The handle is not coated and this might make it less easy to use since you do not have as much grip maybe.
I could not find the exact length of the handles but looking at the picture and comparing it to the Happy Health Smart above I guess it is the same about 8 inches long.
My take on long handled toenail clippers
Keeping our nails in good shape and short is important for our balance and should be done on a regular basis.
However, As we get older, and lose some of our flexibility, clipping toenails can be a little daunting task.
One of the types of extended or long-handled clippers can help in this case.
It is hard to give final advice on what the best model or brand is, but the Easy Reach extends to 22 inches and that is a lot more than the almost standard 8 1/2 inches of the other ones.
I can not decide if this is what you need. It all depends on your specific situation and how mobile you are.
I hope my writing about long-handled nail clippers helped you find the one you need.
