Seniors have a need for different supplements compared to other people.

Supplements and Vitamins

There is a lot of confusion about supplements. Here I will help you clear up all of that and tell you what supplements are, if you need them and if so what type and how much you should take daily.

What are supplements?

Any supplement is actually a dietary supplement since you take it in addition to the food you eat.

A dietary supplement is a product that is manufactured and is in most cases in the form of a pill, tablet, liquid, or tablet.

Supplements for seniors add nutrients that can be sourced from natural food sources including animals or are made synthetically.

What do supplements contain?

They can contain vitamins, fibers, fatty acids, amino acids, proteins, probiotics, and minerals just to name a few. Most of the time they are mixed with other ingredients.

What Supplements Does A Senior Need?

This is a very hard-to-answer question and it depends a lot on what your lifestyle is.

You can understand that a bodybuilder has different needs than someone who goes for a walk twice a week. It also depends on what your daily diet consists of.

Here I will add a list of the main supplements you can take and later will provide more information and links on where to find them.

Turmeric

Turmeric is one of the supplements I take daily since it has so many benefits. You can find my personal best turmeric supplement for seniors here.

Zinc

Zinc is a very essential supplement since we can only get it from food. Many people do not get enough through their food. A reason to write about the best zinc supplements for seniors on its own page.

This is a list of the most used supplements by seniors.

  • Calcium
  • Protein
  • Potassium
  • Keto
  • Testosterone
  • Iodine

My Favorite Supplement Stores

I am very picky with my supplements and vitamins and like to know all about them before ordering any. These are my 3 favorite stores.

i-Supplements

i-supplements is a store with a very large index of supplements and a nice search box to help you find what you need very easily. I will do an i-supplements review later.

If you like to see what they have to offer you can see it by clicking here.

Double Wood Supplements

I am planning on doing a Double Wood Supplements review to show you why this is one of my favorite stores.

For now, you can have a look at their store here!

Bulksupplements

Just like the other one I am planning on writing down my experiences in a Bulksupplements review on its own page in the near future.

You can have a look at their store now by clicking here on this link.

Supplements For Seniors – My Opinion

Vitamins and supplements are a well-discussed topic and everyone has his or her opinion. If you need them is something I cannot tell you and the best thing is to consult your physician for that.

Although I eat fairly healthy and try to eat as much organic as possible in combination with grass-finished beef or heritage pork I still take supplements.

I order my supplements online in the stores I mentioned in this article. I link to it in my list of dietary supplements you can find at the top of this page.

I just started this article and was planning on writing the whole thing first before publishing but decided to do it anyway for now. I will add a lot more content later to this. Including information about all the supplements, I mentioned in the list.

I did write an article about Iodine deficiency related to getting older for you to read about this subject.
